World Premiere and Great Piano Talent with the
Orquesta de Cámara de Chile

Álvaro Gallegos, ADN Radio

The recent program offered by the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile, of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage, stood as an illuminating example of why its season has probably been the most committed, the most attractive, the most innovative, and that which entails a true social responsibility as a state group, maintaining artistic excellence above all.

...

Then came someone who emerges as one of the most gifted performers to emerge from our soil, the young pianist Gustavo Miranda, who has achieved critical success in his performances both in recitals and on this occasion, together with the Orquesta de Cámara de Chile.

The work chosen was the Piano Concerto Op.7 by Clara Wieck Schumann, written when Robert Schumann's future wife was a teenager, and to have been conceived by someone so young it is truly remarkable, but its essential value is the piano part , and Miranda had what great performers have, which is to persuade us of the value of the piece with his accurate touch and his precision of nuances and details. The cello solo in the central Romanza was impressive, in the hands of the leader Fernanda Guerra, who shared the effusive applause with Miranda.

An encore was inevitable: an Intermezzo by Johannes Brahms that reaffirmed Miranda's outstanding level, and that confirms everything that has been written about this extraordinary talent.
